Training & Ongoing Support

You don’t need to know how to pick a lock to run a Dunmore Locksmith location. We’ve built our onboarding around one fact: most of our strongest owners started in completely different fields. What they brought was a willingness to learn the trade and a commitment to the Threshold Standard. We handle the rest. From your first week through your hundredth service call, you’ll have a training system, live coaching, and a national support desk that answers the phone when you need it.

Initial Training

Your training begins at our dedicated facility, not in a conference room with a slide deck. Over two intensive weeks, you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with veteran locksmiths who’ve handled everything from a stuck deadbolt in a century-old Dunmore home to a full master-key system for a regional hospital.

Week one covers the trade itself: pin-tumbler rekeying, mortise lock repair, key extraction, safe servicing, and the fundamentals of electronic access control. You’ll learn to identify a Schlage Grade 1 commercial cylinder by sight, understand why a Medeco high-security keyway resists bumping, and know when a Baldwin mortise set needs a full rebuild versus a simple adjustment. We teach you the real words, then we make sure you know what they mean in plain English when you’re explaining a repair to a customer.

Week two shifts to operations and business systems. You’ll train on our dispatch and routing software, learn to price jobs using our standardized flat-rate book, and practice writing estimates that match what the customer actually pays. We cover hiring your first technician, including how we background-check and identity-verify every candidate, how to photograph and badge them, and how to send their name and photo to customers before every visit. Marketing setup rounds out the second week: local search optimization, neighborhood-targeted campaigns, and how to build trust in a community where homeowners are cautious about who they let through the door.

Launch Support

The gap between training and your first paying customer is where a lot of new businesses stall. We don’t let that happen. Before you unlock your doors on day one, our launch team has already built your local lead engine: optimized Google Business Profile, neighborhood-specific landing pages, and targeted search campaigns that put your phone number in front of people searching “locksmith near me” in your territory.

Your first jobs are coached live. A Threshold field advisor rides along or monitors remotely, helping you price accurately, communicate the written estimate clearly, and deliver the 365-Day Done Right Promise with confidence. We want your first customer to become your first repeat customer. That happens when the price on the invoice matches the price on the phone, when the technician shows up exactly as promised, and when the repair holds up for more than a year.

Ongoing Support

  • Field coaching and technical backup. Stuck on a Mul-T-Lock cylinder you’ve never seen before? Our master locksmiths answer the phone and walk you through it. Complex commercial install? We dispatch a senior tech to assist and train on-site.
  • Marketing that keeps the phone ringing. Local SEO, paid search, and seasonal campaigns are managed by our national team, tuned to your specific territory. You focus on service; we focus on filling your schedule.
  • Vendor relationships and pricing power. Our collective buying across the Threshold Group gets you distributor pricing on Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, Baldwin, Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, Sargent, and Abloy hardware that no single-location shop can match.
  • Technology platform and software updates. Dispatch, invoicing, customer communication, and the photo-verification system that sends technician names and images before every visit. We maintain it, upgrade it, and train your team on changes.
  • National brand campaigns and reputation network. Threshold Group invests in brand awareness that benefits every location. Customer reviews, referral protocols, and the Threshold Verified trust mark that lets homeowners know exactly who they’re hiring.
  • Annual recertification and advanced training. Electronic locks evolve. Access control systems get smarter. We bring you back for refresher courses and new-technology certifications so your skills stay current and your offerings stay competitive.

You’re Never Alone

Running a business is hard enough without wondering who to call when something breaks at 11 PM on a Saturday. Our support line is staffed by live people, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Same promise we make to our customers, same promise we make to you. If you’re ready to build something real in your community, call (910) 714-4287 or request more information below. We’ll send you the full franchise disclosure and schedule a call to answer whatever’s on your mind.
