Non-destructive entry first, always - and we re-key Schlage, Kwikset, and Baldwin locks on the spot while you watch
You get a price before we start. It does not change when we arrive. No surprises.
Available Franchise Territories
Right now, Dunmore Locksmith holds open territory in eleven states with no existing locations on the ground. That means first-mover advantage is real: claim a protected market, build the name before anyone else does, and own the customer relationship in your area from day one. We’re not flooding markets with overlapping operators. Each franchisee gets a defined territory, and we don’t sell the same ground twice.
Open Markets
These states are currently open for territory claims. Some markets have been waiting longer than others, and a few have conditions that line up especially well for locksmith work:
- Texas – Fast-growing suburbs around Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio mean new construction, turnover in rental stock, and homeowners upgrading to smart locks.
- Florida – High seasonal turnover in coastal markets keeps rekeying demand steady year-round, and the hurricane-hardware upgrade cycle drives commercial work.
- California
- Georgia – Atlanta’s sprawl creates long response-time gaps that a well-placed operator can close.
- North Carolina – The Research Triangle and Charlotte metro are adding residents faster than local trades can keep up.
- Arizona – Extreme heat cycles wear out residential hardware faster than temperate climates, which means more repair and replacement calls.
- Tennessee
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- Colorado – Front Range growth and a thin bench of established locksmith brands.
- Washington
- Virginia – Northern Virginia’s density and defense-contractor commercial base.
We don’t publish exact remaining territory counts because they shift as prospects move through qualification. If you’re serious about a market, the next step is to call and confirm what’s still available in the counties you’re targeting.
How Territories Work
A Dunmore Locksmith territory is protected and exclusive. We define it by county or metropolitan statistical area, not by some vague radius that overlaps with your neighbor. Once you sign, we don’t sell another franchise inside your boundary. Period.
Exclusivity means you own the customer relationship in your area. Every call that comes from your territory goes to you. Every commercial account you land stays yours. We don’t operate company stores that compete with franchisees, and we don’t reserve carve-outs for national accounts behind your back.
Reserving a territory starts with a conversation, not a deposit. Call us, tell us where you’re looking, and we’ll pull the map. If the ground is open, we hold it for a qualified prospect while you complete due diligence. That hold is free and it has a reasonable expiration, because we’re not in the business of tying up markets indefinitely. But we also don’t rush people. This is a decision that should take the time it needs.
The Threshold Standard travels with you. Every technician you hire gets background-checked and identity-verified. You send customers the tech’s name and photo before the visit. The photo ID badge gets shown at the door, every single time. The clean, marked uniform. The written price before any work starts. These aren’t suggestions. They’re the conditions of using the Dunmore name, and they’re what let you charge a fair rate instead of racing to the bottom.
Your startup territory typically covers a population base large enough to support one mobile unit and a storefront or warehouse location. As you prove the model, you can expand your footprint or add units within your state, subject to availability. We’ve been at this since 2007, and we’ve learned that operators who try to cover too much ground too fast end up with long response times and unhappy customers. Better to own your patch completely than to stretch thin across three counties.
